Contribution to your learning

and your learning community

(5303)

I firmly believe that people have the power to do amazing things. In my own life, there have been times when challenges have come, and I clearly heard that negative thought that said you're not going to make it. For example, when I came to the United States, I faced the challenge of learning a new language. Without a doubt, it represented a wall of fear in me. In the process of this course, I have been learning how to develop great or powerful performance in life. Our brain changes depending on what we do and feel. We need to understand the type of mindset we have because this is the key to the power of accepting challenges and being open to saying: I can, I will, it won't be easy but I will do my best.

One of the benefits I received from this course was that as a student, I need to gain experiences and knowledge from others and share mine with them. Not only do my experiences count, but at the same time, as a teacher, I have learned that it is very important to create an optimal learning environment at each stage of educational life. This course helped me better understand the role that choice, ownership, and voice play in the ePortfolio process and reflect on why ownership is crucial to learning. Additionally, in this course, I learned how to create an ePortfolio to share my work, reflect on my growth, and develop my own voice and the ePortfolio is not mine, it is for the community.

The ADL program works and how my e-portfolio that I created in 5303 and my innovation plan created in EDLD 5305 are fundamental components of the ADL program. Additionally, another very important thing I learned was how to create a meaningful learning environment (CSLE) that gave me choice, ownership, and voice through authentic learning opportunities (COVA).

The definition of experience may vary for everyone. At the beginning of this course, I noticed the importance of participating in the discussion about the topics of each evaluation. It was a valuable time where we could express our opinions, add some comments on blogs or simply read other colleagues' discussions on a topic. This brought to my attention how important it is to share our experiences with others because it is not enough to have skills to learn. Without reflecting on these experiences, they may be quickly forgotten or the learning potential may be lost.

During these evaluations, I collaborated with other colleagues, such as Syary Rodríguez, Junuen Malagón, where we discussed the course topics and shared ideas that made this online learning experience more enjoyable and attractive we also shared resources and relevant articles. I also created communication through WhatsApp groups with peers, virtual meetings, emails, and Zoom, allowing us to grow more efficiently and use the appropriate keys to learn and work on the digital portfolio. We were participating in the Discussion Course to communicate and share experiences as peers.

In the course EDLD 5303 we created an ePortfolio to share our work, reflect on our growth, and develop our voices. In addition, we were analyzing and reflecting on why it is so important to make learning visible by showing what one has created, developed, built, written or assembled. Additionally, we learned the importance of selecting an appropriate tool to help organize our learning environment.

These courses gave me the opportunity to experience the CSLE+COVA approach. I completed almost all of the required readings and videos for the course, but I missed some live sessions. I also watched the recording session and contacted my colleagues if I had any questions.

At this point, I will determine the numerical score of the self-assessment, this is my first master's degree in education. However, I'll be honest, I'm trying to do the best I can and will continue to improve in those areas where necessary. I consider that I have 90 out of 100 in Applying Educational Tech EDLD 5303, but for the next courses, I want to improve my grades. This grade reflection is based on the fact that all key contributions, readings, videos, and deadlines for the various course activities were completed. Every day is an opportunity to apply the knowledge I have acquired in these courses at Lamar University. The power of “YET” is a reminder that things may seem difficult at first, but with effort and perseverance, I can achieve my goals.
