I want to present all the components of my PL strategy in one coherent of your portfolio.

As an educator, continuous learning is crucial to enhance teaching and management methods and facilitate student learning and achievement. Professional Learning encompasses various activities such as conventional workshops, self-reflection, peer support, experimentation, and instructional and management practices modification based on student performance data, work, and behavior. Collaborative and experiential learning help educators improve their understanding of teaching and learning processes and how students learn.

To support my educational community, I developed professional learning based on Alisson Gulamhussein's 5 Key Principles. These principles form the foundation for creating effective professional development opportunities for educators.

I have created a Call to action to motivate and encourage my team to believe in my idea. In this call to action, I explain why it is important for all teachers to have professional learning opportunities to improve their educational practice and their students' performance.

Blueprint

A Blueprint is a roadmap that describes what we intend to achieve and evaluate in a specific program. Ensures that our actions are in sync with our students' learning objectives. By aligning your goals with desired learning outcomes, we can provide students with a more effective learning experience. Below is a graphic that outlines my blueprint for my Professional Learning program, which is divided into six phases. Each phase describes the actions that teachers must take to learn how to use Blended Learning and implement it effectively in their classrooms.

As with any profession, my learning and development plan needs to take into consideration the needs of my audience. In my case, the audience comprises of my colleagues at work and my pre-kindergarten students. Therefore, I would like you to click on the button below to find out about their specific needs and how I plan to enhance my professional development accordingly.

Collaboration refers to a collective effort involving multiple individuals or work groups to accomplish a shared task or project. In an organizational setting, collaboration usually involves the participation of two or more people, who can access and contribute to the completion of a project. Foster collaboration

The constant change of generations drives us to reflect on whether we are doing our job correctly as educators. We must acquire skills of self-assessment, active learning, and flexibility to stay relevant. In Professional Learning meetings, we will establish a space to foster Self-Directed Learning, a strategic and self-reflective learning process where the teacher takes the initiative to diagnose learning needs, formulate goals, and identify necessary resources. To make this effective, it is important to encourage teachers to set goals for themselves while also providing them with the resources and support necessary to achieve those goals. We will adopt the COVA approach, which stands for Choice, Ownership, and Voice, to create an authentic learning environment where teachers have more control over their learning. Implementing self-assessment is crucial to monitor progress, identify areas that need improvement, and make the necessary changes to achieve the established goals.

In order to facilitate clear communication and effective collaboration, it's important to understand the roles and responsibilities of each team member. To help with this, I have created a button that will provide you with a detailed breakdown of the roles that each member of our team represents.

Who will lead?

PL Sessions

PL Session 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.

Introduction: The main goal of this school year is to learn about renewing teaching practices to improve student learning, implement blended learning, prioritize student-centered environments, and develop a growth mindset for themselves and their students.

Ice breaker:

  • Celebrations.

  • Tell us which school you come from.

  • Please share an anecdote from your classroom that you would like to highlight.

The best ideas:

Main idea (Write here).

Take action: PL session 2: 2 days application.

Create the activities mentioned below: Create a presentation in CANVAS where the learner analyzes and presents the different learning environments in the classroom, and create a video to inspire grade-level teams to create engaging learning environments.

Using blended learning models, learners read and discuss differences with classmates, create a proposal that identifies two learning models suitable for their audience and tier needs, and explain how they would enhance their environment. It is essential to consider your audience's needs and objectives.

PL Goals:

1-. Learners will analyze a student-centered digital learning environment.

2-. Learners will analyze and appropriate models for their audience's needs.

Take action: PL session 3: 2 days integration.

Learners will identify curriculum expectations and how digital learning models can help meet them through a group discussion on CANVAS and with your team grade level create for the nine first week a proposal that explains how to execute a blended learning model tailored to your curriculum and audience, including expected activities, objectives, and timing.

PL Goals: Learning connects the blended learning model to identify their environment according to curriculum expectations.

Take action: PL session 4: 1 day human dimension.

Learners reflect on their mindset and how it has impacted their ability to learn and teach. They explore how a growth mindset can positively influence their environment, creating a discussion post in CANVA and a compilation that explains what a growth mindset is and where your mindset is headed. They create a plan that reflects Scott Jeffrey’s four steps to changing your mindset.

PL Goals: Learners share how their mentality has affected their learning and teaching abilities and how believing in themselves can help them impact their environment.

Take action: PL session 5: 1 day caring.

Learners observe and discuss the principles of the growth mindset and how to apply them to learning digital environments. Then, they create a 500-word blog post detailing their stance on the growth mindset and how it affects the learning environment.

PL Goals: Learners will explore the impact of a growth mindset on learning in digital environments. They will discuss how adopting a growth mindset can help them thrive and succeed in their online learning journey.

Take action: PL session 6: 3 days learning how to learn.

Define and design rotation stations, as well as determine the objectives for each station. They also decide the duration for which they will work at each station. Learners have to assess students by observing and asking questions, recording their reactions, and collection their work to add to the portfolio as evidence of progress at beginning and end. Schedule a meeting with staff to discuss points of view.

PL Goals: Learners will develop digital learning activities and growth methodologies in the classroom. Learners evaluate their students' weaknesses and strengths. Learners evaluate their performance and will accept feedback from their co-workers and instructional coaches to see weaknesses and strengths and be able to improve the following school years.
