I have found action research to be a precious tool for improving my teaching practice, specifically in enhancing mathematics education in the classroom through digital technology as a blended learning approach. The core question I am addressing is why students learn mathematics more effectively with technological tools, such as blended learning than with traditional teaching methods.
I have used a mixed-method approach involving qualitative and quantitative evaluation to answer this question. Qualitative data allows me to observe and analyze the classroom environment in terms of student engagement, behavior, and participation. Quantitative data, on the other hand, provides a more objective and statistical analysis of student performance and progress.
Data collection is crucial to this approach, as it allows organizations to gather reliable and comprehensive information for statistical analysis. In education, analyzing data is essential for making informed decisions and conducting research that can shape strategies. By accurately collecting data, organizations can evaluate outcomes, find answers to crucial questions, and anticipate future trends and students' needs.
Through this approach, I gain valuable insights into the effectiveness of digital technology as a blended learning approach for mathematics education. I can evaluate technology's impact on student learning outcomes, engagement, and motivation while identifying potential challenges or barriers to its implementation.
